Valentine’s Day Dinner Plans

Valentine’s Day is coming up and there are so many options out there to celebrate. You could try to get a reservation at any of the area’s top restaurants, go to a movie, a show…anything goes!

For some, preparing a gourmet meal at home is the best way to say I love you. Hey, the saying goes, the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach! We went to Cravings Fine Foods and Market in Barrie’s south end to get their tips on what to serve to the one you love.

First off, you can’t go wrong with white wine infused salami, bread and dips as your appetizer.

Follow that with salmon. Seafood in general is good choice, packed with heart-healthy Omega 3, it’s a great choice for the holiday that’s defined by hearts. Layer it with green beans and a teriyaki sauce, and you’re golden.  Cravings paired theirs with a bright red beet salad. Yum!

Chocolate is a favourite for Valentine’s Day, so Cravings singled out a few options: chocolate brownies that are too good to only eat one and Fraktal. OMG. Fraktal. It’s to die for. Just serve this and your partner will know how much you love them….or in our case, eat the bag and forget you’re there for a minute while they eat.

Basically, anything goes. If you don’t want to spend the time in the kitchen on Valentine’s Day, Cravings has a menu just for you that you can order ahead. That way it looks like you made it!
